Bizzare

I attempted to update my Drupal core files from 7.0 to 7.8 today. Really just a replacement of the core module folders and copy of the sites folder back on top of the new core folders.
The strangest thing happens now. If I try to connect to my site from my laptop (only from my laptop) it refuses the connection. From my android or from any other pc in the house it connects. I'm guessing this is an iptable problem but I really am clueless. I can ping from my laptop and traceroute from my laptop And everything is fine. But from a browser I get connection refused and it's immediate. Doesn't even seem to reach out to anywhere. Instantaneous connection refused.
Can anyone give me some trouble shooting ideas??
Thanks.

The site is http://www.jcrocetta.com. You should see a site under maintenance screen. Please let me know if you also get a refused connection. Thanks.

ahhh. very funny... all of a sudden I realized what I did.
I had the exact same domain on my dev machine as on my vps
So it would loopback to my apache server locally and never even went out to my nginx server on the vps
duh.
I guess that's why people put .beta.com on their dev machine sites.
Another lesson learned.
