Creating Sites and Databases
-
I have over 5 websites that require different domains, databases, etc how do i create them.... do i have to run the whole procedure all over again for each site as i did for my first site.. though partially working now.. still couldn't get the email to work?
I am seriously at a lost here...
All i want is to be able to configure the server.. then create my sites on the server at a go... without going through the stress of running the procedures all over for each domains.
Regards

How about phpmyadmin? If i create one this within a domain how do i work around it for other domains?
More so, i have some of my sites still hosted, and changing nameserver means bringing the site down temporarily, which i am trying to avoid... can anyone shed light on what i need to do please.. I tried using traditional IP address, but it wont work e.g. http://12.34.56.78/~fpmot but it wont work.
Any suggestion is highly welcomed.

Hi Rotimi! I am not the 'key master' here but i suppose when u setup phpmyadmin for/within one (sub)domain means you can manage all the mysql databases u set up all the other domains.
Also, vpsbible has DNS management guidelines on minimising downtime when moving hosts (ref: http://vpsbible.com/hosting/move-website-procedure/).
Thanks,
Benjamin

Thanks Bro... will check that out, things are looking pretty now... just that i am yet to come to term with having to create those public folders per domain.
Thanks a million once again... still trying to sort my Google Apps out, email created but not sending or receiving emails.

My BIGGEST problem is that, my most very important site is not done by me, but with my developer in India... to move it is a Big problem.
i need serious help with this... i used a domain to set the server up and everything seem working fine with this, but i cannot have a phpmyadmin for setup for another domain...and the files under this domain with the databases has to be setup from india... my developer should have access to this.
What can I do or should I do please?
Thanks

@uraxs - Many thanks.. I have my Linode VPS setup using the VPSBible instructions, using one of my newly registered domain... http://www.afrikall.com this domain now has a complete site hosted.. on this same server...
Now i want to move my site from a shared hosting server to this place, main reason, i bought the VPS anyway. Now this site needs a database created and i am not the original designer... my developers are in India.. we are now having problem creating a phpmyadmin for this domain as well as creating a database as well.
Running phpmyadmin under afrikall works but not on fusionplustv.com this is really confusing and time consuming.
I shall appreciate all help in this area, since i have more site with database dependency to move.. But if one works, I can follow suite to doing others.

rotimi, if you want phpmyadmin, remember you need it only once per Linode and it will show all databases on that server, for whatever sites you are hosting.
.. as explained:-

Thanks the_guv, I did all that and it worked fine for the first domain...i.e. phpmyadmin.1stdomain.com worked, but if i tried phpmyadmin.2nddomain.com it wont work.
Having said that, i still created my database using the 1stdomain access to phpmyadmin.. but my 2domain.com will not see the database at all or should i say were not communicating at all.
Thanks.

rotimi- I had the same issue and had to compile/ update the php, restart the vps and all was fine. I suggest you try that first and see how things turn out.
