Email Problem - Sending as default domain on multiple hosts
-
Hi,
I'm all set up and nearly everything is looking good.
I have a few of my domains that utilise the mail() function in php, now the problem is that the default domain is being used in the from address on all the other domains.
Is this meant to happen? I am under the understanding that following your guide each domain would have it's own From address.
Any help on this would be appreciated.

Hi Steven,
You need a further tweak, some Postfix' "virtual aliases".
Bear with me, I'm setting up a mailbox tonight so will set out precisely the configuration steps to take.

Thanks will love the updates when you can. Currently getting around the issue but the fix would be great.

Steven, sorry not to come back sooner.
Now, tell me, cos I just read your query again .. no, that's not supposed to happen!
You should be able to send/receive email from anyone@thisdomain.com and anyoneequally@theotherdomains.com.
If you can't that sounds like an issue with your DNS, else a Postfix config issue.
Are you using Google Apps or something else?
How did you set up the VPS in the first place? Using a LAMP or LEMP script, or with the manual guides?
Either way, the configuration is the same. Can you please check the Postfix tutorial:-
http://vpsbible.com/email/setup-postfix-email/
... scrutinizing your configurations in the files mentioned and especially in the /etc/postfix/main.cf file.
Let me know about Google Apps ... your settings here may be the issue as well. Check this tut:-
http://vpsbible.com/email/setup-google-apps/
I take it you have separate domain zones for each site?:-

We'll take it from there.
