Followed the 10 minute Guide - Wordpress not Showing up
-
Ok iv followed the "LEMP Stack: *10 Minute* VPS Install 4 Lucid 10.04" guide and then installed Wordpress using your guides and although I can get to:
http://servinghomeserver.com/wp-admin
I cant get the site to load:
All I get is your "Congratulations churchill, we're done and this server's purring." message. Any ideas?

Aah .. interesting. Off-hand I'm not sure why (it's terribly early here/half asleep) but I do know that with the forthcoming WP-stack this won't be an issue .. likely some vhost thing and a lack of compatibility 'tween the Ubuntu-Nginx stack and the existing WP guides.
I'll publish the WP stack on Tuesday and that will clear the issue. (It's tested and I'm sure of that.)
As an aside, remind me Phil .. what VPS provider are you using?

Linode 360

I am also having the same problem with my linode 360 plan. I am awaiting your wordpress stack. Thnaks

publishing here tomorrow 5pm GMT!

I am having that problem - very frustrating. Any solution yet?
BTW the tut's and the scripts are amazing, keep up the good work.

BTW, I used the stackscript for WP.

I was using vps.net and followed guides and later stackscript to setup the server and add WordPress. No luck.
Switched to linode 360 (west coast datacenter) and still problems
Getting annoyed now :)
setup a new linode 360 (east coast) and this time it worked! I will do some more testing to determine why the difference, I find it hard to believe the datacenter images would be causing the issues.

OK, no problem with the WP install on a second domain, just on my main domain, the RDNS one.

played around with vhosts and sites-available files and problem solved. Not exactly sure what I actually did that solved it. I know I should check and document at each stage, but who has time for that.................

@Pete .. sounds like a dodgy variable
@Graham .. out of interest, what's your VPS? also, could you post the output of these:-
hostname -f
and whatever you see from:-
cat /etc/postfix/main.cf
.. then again, if you sorted it's probably too late :P

Hi Guv
Using Linode 360

I now have a different but similar problem. Have setup a 3rd domain and all I get is a blank screen, WP not showing.....

OK, last problem solved. I had not changed my local hosts file back!!!! Oh, so much to think of.....
BTW. I am using MAC Terminal to connect, it's a breeze, basically MAC is same as linux!! So working locally, as on hosts file, is just the same. I have learnt a lot that cross applies.Definitely buy you a pint at some point. Whereabouts are you?

"Definitely buy you a pint at some point"
worth a ditto
"Definitely buy you a pint at some point"
you got me summed up, Mr G. Darn nice offer too.
sadly I'm in valencia, where the beer is, er, not really. I like mine with things swimming in it, else black n tan, untravelled.
(I miss the pubs. Not the rain, mind.)
What about you Graham?
(You could buy me a proper pintsize by telling the folks at your VPS forum, Sir :P )

Will do in the forum. I'm in Holland at the moment, raining at the moment. Had a Black 'n Tan last week in an Irish pub in Tilburg!! Didn't exactly feel like drinking in Cork or Dublin!! At end of July on my way to live in Spain for three years, near Almeria. Will be passing through Valencia, a pint sounds like a great idea!!

splendid Graham .. I know a good Irish pub in the old town here, just enough time for the right kind of Irish separation :P
You'll be super warm in Almeria through till October, hot damn!
