hello everyone

Hello everyone.
My name is Adrian M, I live in Usa, currently a IS (Information Systems) major at a local college. I have been a webmaster for couple years now with interest in php, sql and other database/website related issues and languages. I spend most of my time administrating a rather small forum for young motorcyclist users. We have around 4000 users and are currently expending. I'm in the process of developing my own php based photo gallery and few other projects.
Big thanks to the_guv man for helping me with his tutorials on how to setup my new linode vps box.
Great to be a new member and see how this forum will expand :)
Cheers everyone :)

Adrian, you're very welcome .. great to have you around .. we'll need your help!
But dude .. you're gonna have to change you name by deed poll or somat .. you've torn my CSS all over the shop. Er, OK, another tweak to add to my list.

Hello there, how do I view the tutorial videos? Thanks.
Posted 2 years ago # -
hey Thomas, they're all linked on their relevant posts .. can you not see them?

I finally saw them. The thing that throws me off was that some (e.g. the 1st and 2nd) of them do not contain videos and those are the ones I start looking for the videos. Maybe a note about this would save newbies the frustration.
The videos are excellent, but I really enjoyed the detail cut and paste. You provide valuable contents that worth much more than the subscription fee. The challenge is getting the first time visitors past the point of trust where they realize the actual worth. Until then the word of mouth referral by current members will get you a long way.

Hi everyone, I'm from the first (short lived) forum. Basically I'm into computers, love to learn and my current interests are moving towards web design and creating/managing my own internet server. As such I've discovered VPS seems the most economical route while still giving me full control... I like control.
In relation to the 'site rollout update' post, I'm finding it amusing watching you find your feet with vpsBible Guv. As usual everything takes twice as long as you think it will and nothing ever goes according to plan. I don't envy you lol.

cheers Bob .. pleased you're having fun, m8 :)
LOL. Damn, has been a pretty sluggish rollout, for sure.
.. onwards and upwards - at last i feel like i'm beginning to shove the site on the backburner and the content on the hot plate ..
