Hey!

Okay, so I've been really thinking about transferring to a VPS, but I don't want to have a managed VPS because that's way to expensive. So I find this and I wanted to see what it's all about.
I have no idea of anything server related like this, and your saying I will be able to run a secure server by following your guide?
I was planning to purchase a VPS from vps.net.
I also run on a mac with vmware fusion to run windows, or can I do all the dirty work from a mac?
Also, does the guide help you on how to install cpanel, wordpress, one-click software installs, also how to make server deflate enabled and gzip enabled, I mean everything to run a couple blogs.
Just the thought of running my own server scares the sh*t out of me being that That my main income and if I F'it up... yeah...

you should be able to do stuff from mac with your terminal or use putty for mac.
if you rely on cpanel and one click installs to do your work, then i don't think this is what you're looking for.
i use to use cpanel but i realized cpanel is a resource hog. my server has been more stable and can handle more users with my own vps with nginx.

webmin beats cpanel hands down .. and it's freeee .. there's a LAMP script here if you want to go that route.
(Nginx is faster tho!)
Just popped up 4 WordPress3 tuts .. 2 of them stackscripts.
