[SOLVED] Iptables firewall
-
Hi Guvnr decided to start from scratch with ubuntu 10.4 to allow me to use what ive learned since my original setup
Having a snag with the Iptables tho (ive completed the rest and returned to it)
the line the guide says to look at isnt as it appears theres no 30000 merely a $port am i missing something to do with spaces or should i not have deleted $port and simply addding my port number after it ?
-A INPUT -p tcp -m state --state NEW --dport 2711 -j ACCEPT
When saved and tested gives the error
Bad argument `*filter'

(don't publicise your port number!)

Thats what i did Guv (thats not my actual port number) but it seems to dislike something I'll try it another time see if i can figure out what it is
All i did was delete $port and put my port number in its place.

Harden the Secure Shell (SSH) & Create a Firewall
