LEMP Stack: *10 Minute* VPS Install 4 Lucid 10.04 - WANNA BETA TEST?
-
@clotted .. well, a few things .. it is on my list to write up a 64bit eq but this won't be for a while yet.
(32bit is generally recognised to perform better than 64 .. although again I have plans to benchmark the two flavors)
@Simon .. good point, I've added links on a bunch of old scripts now to avoid confusion, thank you.

Hi, am after 64bit for Large EC2 instance work. I look forward to the 64 release. If you have a few pointers I would be greatful. Thanks

Just to confirm - did a fresh install of Ubuntu 10.04 lucid 64bit and ran the script. Worked like a charm. Cheers.

that is really good to hear, Jonathan .. although I should point out that the LEMP scripts have only been thoroughly tested for 32bit which, for most, is a faster solution.

I agree the 32bit is ideally a faster solution. However vps.net doesn't offer that option - due to the fact that it restricts users to 9 nodes. And since most users host numerous sites on one box with multiple nodes. I guess 64bit is also a good solution. But I agree, 32bit is a lot better in terms of resource usage.

hey... have you considered including a script to also run something like varnish as well? or will that duplicate and complicate? I had read this article danielmiessler.com/blog/optimizing-wordpress-with-nginx-varnish-w3-total-cache-amazon-s3-and-memcached about it and how varnish makes nginx even faster. But not everyone agrees and i don't have the background to figure it all out.
