new gmail from line says VIA, spf records, help!
-
hey!
so the new gmail interface has a new VIA line in the FROM line which is causing a bit of confusion for some people.
Let's say I have a contact form on a domain called EXAMPLE-A.COM. My localhost which is also my mail server is called EXAMPLE-B.COM.
If someone sends something using, it pops up as xxxxx@xxxxx.net VIA EXAMPLE-B.COM to me.
How can I fix this? GMAIL help says stuff about setting SPF records but I can't quiet figure out the syntax and exactly where to put it in the linode DNS manager AND if have to put the same spf record into my records for the EXAMPLE-A.COM (the website) or EXAMPLE-B.COM (the localhost with the mail server.) Both of the sites sit on the same IP address.
The mail return path is listed as EXAMPLE-B.COM which apparently gmail checks SPF records on.
All in all, very confusing. A simple step-by-step set of instructions would be most appreciated.
