Postfix email going to spam in gmail
-
Hi Guv and co
I followed the installation guides you have here very carefully. I have gone over my settings twice to make sure they are as suggested. I have waited several days to make sure everything propagated correctly.
Everything appears fine but when I send an email to a gmail address via postfix it flags it as spam.
Any ideas what's going on or what I'm overlooking?

Hi Lance,
You could try checking your server IP address (and domain) to see if it's been flagged at http://www.spamhaus.org/lookup.lasso

Thanks for the advice Scott. It appears my IP is clean and not flagged so that isn't the issue.

I know that a similar thing happens if someone uses a php mail function from any website and just enters whatever domain they wish, this happens because the ip of the sender is not associated with the given domain.
Check your headers in that email by clicking show orginal option. Once there see on the 5th line if you have something like this?
"Received-SPF: pass (google.com: domain of xxxxxyyyy@xxxxx.com designates xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx as permitted sender)"Posted 2 years ago #
