Ran stackscript, can't sudo

Howdy
So I thought I'd give a stackscript a whirl on my next VPS and can say it's a nice script Olly - proper time saver that one!
Anyway, just ran the lemp script - everything seems fine but I cant sudo any commands, as as root login is no - how can you change the password!?
I know what I'm putting in is correct, as I'm copying and pasting direct from the /root/script file, as I havnt deleted it.
Weird thing is, I can get into WinSCP fine using the same loging credentials.
Any ideas would be helpful!
Cheers

Just reimaged the VM and tried the script again, but left root access just incase.
It failed again, cant sudo & PHP isnt working - wondering if something has gone wrong part way down?
Is it normal to have to re-enter the mysql root password on the install? What's the point in putting the password in the script.
Time I've spent on this would have been better doing it manually! Anyone else run the script with no problems?

Howdy Olly
Right'o - 4th install with the stackscript now and it's definable not letting the user sudo.
Have checked the permissions, and the user is allowed in the sudoers file.
As I said above - can use the password when using winscp - but not when trying to sudo any commands!
Weird weird weird.
Any ideas, as its bugging me! lol Just using root for now.
Ben.
p.s. ignore the bit about the mysql password, just seen the note about that on the page - doh.
p.p.s. php WAS working - that was user error - double doh

I've got a similar problem but not quite the same.
Just installed lemp stackscript on ubuntu 10.04 in Linode, without ssh.
The first thing is I don't get any permissions though I can log in as user.
When I checked the sudoers file my user wasn't in there so I have added it. So clearly that part of the script failed.
It's too early to say if that's the only problem.Posted 1 year ago #
