RDNS...
-
Hi,
Great site BTW. It's been invaluable to me as far as this whole unmanaged VPS thing goes... I'd like to ask a question however.
So I'm using Linode, (because they are awesome), and I'm following your "Prepare Linux Server for Email with Postfix" guide. I've set the RDNS via the Linode reverse DNS thing under networking; I've got the hostname and the Hosts file set accordingly to point to the "mail.mydomain.com".
But when I check via "dig -x" it's still showing that default linode RDNS entry, or whatever that is, not the nice and pretty new one it should.
Understanding it can take some time, I did indeed make myself some tea, and came back 24 hours later to find that it did not change. Per Linode, it should take about 6 hours... So I'm wondering if I should just be more patient, or if theres something else that could be wrong. (My google searches didn't really pull up anything I could make sense of...)
Any help you could provide would be great,
THanks!

hey Josh .. thank you.
I happen to know that Linode had some problems yesterday, at least at Newark.
.. I suspect this may be connected. Give it a few more cups of tea and take it from there.
This won't stop you from carrying on with the rest of your setup, BTW.
