Set Up A Firewall Using iptables
-
GUV,
I am not sure what is going on, I can't use putty as I am on a mac, but I keep getting this error anyway:Permission denied (publickey).
I cannot move on, I just cannot go pass this tutorial: "Set Up A Firewall Using iptables".
There aren't instructions on how to go back / revert prior to this section either.

OK, so: "In a worst case scenario, as I said above, many VPS providers have an emergency shell access. Linode, for example, has their Ajax console."
How do we login via the Ajax interface, do we login as root, user? Do we need the passphrase?
Most importantly, how do we go back a step, BEFORE, the Firewall/iptables tweak?

Permission denied (publickey)
means you should be accessing with the public part of your keypair...
is it not asking you for this?

Well, you know what Marc? I have given up on this tutorial, because I simply CANNOT move on, there has to be something missing in the tutorial, at least something that I cannot understand, as I said before, without your video and the help of Joe, I would have been stuck.
So I WIPED the disk again, and rebooted my Linode more than 10 times in a couple of days, now I am trying the other tutorials, I am not sure where Guv is for the support, but if it does not provide further assistance, I won't be able to get the "iptables" right.
So, this one is on hold for now.
