I got my server setup with your top tiger script. With key auth, no root login and no pass.
I was trying to follow your proxy tutorial:
http://vpsbible.com/proxy-servers/socks-ssh-proxy/However it does not work could it be that there is some kind of restriction with tunnels and non root users?
Or maybe I'm doing something wrong with Putty: You link to :
http://vpsbible.com/remote-access/set-up-command-line-interface-cli-using-putty/
But there is no specific tunneling reference there.
I basically tried: shh/tunnels port 8080 Dest dynamic. I'm I missing something?

hey bkeeper, sorry for delay, am very crap this week ..
the PuTTY reference is only to show those using Windoze how to get a terminal prompt but, once you have the command line setup and are logged in remotely as you normally would, then:-
ssh -p 54321 -D 1234 username@hostname
.. as detailed and then do the magic in Firefox or whatever, and you're proxying.
