W3 Total Cache?
-
Hi adm,
Can you let me (us) know how to use W3 Total Cache (configure Xcache to work with this plugin).
It's the most favourite Cache plugin for Wordpress now.
Many thanks

hey minh .. i'm aware of this but haven't had time to try it.
when I do I'll write a little something to swap them automatically.
*** anyone got this going on nginx? ***

Hi Guv,
It's on my list of "must try on NGinx". I have used it on Apache under shared hosting and it didn't perform well - though that was due to the shared host and their config. It's highly regarded so it's certainly something I want to test.

seems to me this would make for some interesting benchmarking, a bit like http://vpsbible.com/php/php-benchmarking-phpfpm-fastcgi-spawnfcgi/ .. but I'll be re-looking at PHP-FPM first

I'll throw another request in the ring for this one. W3 total cache using APC has worked awesome for me even on my current clunky Apache vps setup (which I'll likely be ditching here soon)...so would love to see how to get it fired up on Nginx.

@SuicideKings - I began playing with this and got it 90% there. However... there's some major PITA issues with it requiring security in the PHP settings for caching. I didn't have time to play with that aspect further, so for now am back with WP Super Cache.
The author of W3 TC has indicated he's adding direct NginX support prior to release of version 1.0. Might be worth waiting for...

Thanks for the info cdroo, I look forward to testing W3 TC to compare it to WP Super Cache on Nginx.

"adding direct NginX support" .. cracking news
"PITA" .. not a techy term then :)

Hi Guv,
"PITA" - that's a higly technical term for advanced usage only. ;-)

Just wanted to let people know that the current development version of w3totalcache can be downloaded from wordpress.org and includes nginx support. I've got it running on my site and it seems to be working quite well.
